Clouds To The Ground (Wolken zu Boden)

melting installation, soundscape
Houses Gap
Continuous

In a non-place something cold, melting placed, swarmed with a sound collage of word and sound.

Clouds To The Ground leads us into the space between the Stadtwerkstatt and the next the building next door, which is about 60 cm away.

The outdoor installation includes several blocks of ice that fit into the confined space. Clouds To The Ground highlights themes of (material) transformation and spins thoughts of a utopian dystopia. A material that is dependent on environment and especially temperature, its temporality, mutability and raw materiality is immediately apparent.

The soundscape, which can be heard when entering the non-place, includes sounds of the ice material itself as well as word sequences, which open further spheres of thought and imagination and offer us the incentive to immerse ourselves in this melting, changing place.
