The collective Okabre performs a real-time film setting of the film TRANS CUTUCU. Okabre's live film soundtracks are an invitation to create a shared space of imagination. With Okabre's fifth film concert series and the film TRANS CUTUCU, we travel to the Amazon region of Ecuador. There, in the south, lies the mountain massif Cutucu. It served as a protective wall against ecological destruction for the indigenous population, but it also represented an obstacle - there was no access to the modern world. The construction of roads through the Cutucú massif is now opening up mobility, which will enable the extraction of fossil resources, but also grant the desired connection to the civilized world. Creeping but determining, a process is taking place that cannot be stopped.

The collective Okabre writes and sets live alternative compositions for cinematic artworks. After concerts at international film festivals and performances in European municipal and art house cinemas, Okabre opened the Munich Film Art Weeks 2022 for the first time with the silent film classic “A Page of Madness”. With TRANS CUTUCU they continue their collaboration with the film foundation Trigon Film. The collective began with free forms of live soundtracks to dance and art performances in 2015, and their annual film concert series evolved from these earlier works. Okabre deliberately avoids musical commentary on the films.
